June Wine Tasting

Don't miss our new and growing monthly wine and champagne tasting, it's on again Monday June 27th. We typically start at 6pm and will taste 2 reds, 2 whites, a sparkling and you can choose a small plate item from our menu....all for $25.

George is back from L'eft Bank Wine and is our host this month, he's got some great information.

Summer Part 1

A new season bring lots of new challenges. As much as our guests seem to love our unique open air concept with windows that open to Water Street we've found that the high and low end of the temperature range wreaks havoc on the dining room. So, we testing a sidewalk cafe during Riversplash and found it to be quite nice. The test results are in! Soon, you'll be able to dine streetside at Swig as well as open air for those of you that prefer Air Conditioning.

Riversplash Lessons

So we learned a few things during our first Riversplash. While the street dining was unique and the setup looked great, it's difficult to provide the level of service that we have become known for with 125 decibels of live band in your ears and about 12000 other guests milling about. However, it was the severe contrast to the street festival that raised some awareness about what it is that we do. We had our share of challenges inside the restaurant as well....there was no way to escape the volume of the band, but the guests who used Swig as a bit of an escape from the madness and still be in a festival atmosphere seemed to enjoy it most.

Next year we'll work on more parking and valet as well as more restroom areas for our guests....who wants to use a Metro, ick!

Oh and a special thanks to the staffs of Mo's, Mo's Irish Pub and Moceans for all of their support and business this week, you guys were great and we are pleased to have such good friends in the industry.

Street Dining

A quick heads up to look for our street dining tables at Riversplash. You'll see them right in front of the restaurant and we're also taking reservation for them. Slight variations of our most popular items will be available to sit and enjoy or to walk with. Again, please call ahead 414-431-7944

Revving Up

The weather looks far from frightful this first weekend of June and it will add up to some real craziness on Water Street this weekend. However, I invite you to use Swig as your personal VIP Suite for all the Riverslash action. We will continue to offer Valet service for all of our reservations in close proximity to Swig. Saturday has filled up quickly with a few very large parties, but we have a good deal of room on Friday and a bit on Saturday at this point.
