The staff hates me!

A good deal of our guests were intrigued at the concept of build your own wine flight, that segment of our wine business continues to grow weekly....great way to get to know some new wines without committing to a full glass....nicely matches the idea behind small plate dining....no committment to full entrees. Anyway, with the success of wine flights, we decided to add a martini flight. And now you can see where todays title comes from. It's an arduous task let's say to prepare all those mini martinis, but our guests love em. They went over exceptionally well when we used them at The martini society

Late Night

I'm very pleased to see our late night business picking up. We've made a bit of an effort to keep our restaurant and lounge business separated so as not to interrupt diners and not to lull loungers. Thanks for giving us a try late night, also a big thanks to The Onion for their pre-holiday/blow-off-steam/happy hour event, your support is very much appreciated.

Preview Party

Thanks to all of you who chose to join us last night for our preview party and got a chance to try our new menu on for size. Your feedback was great! There's still a couple of slots early(b4 6) and
kaet (after 9) open tonight if you'd like to join us. One more item, if you'll be joining us with a large group, say more than 6, please give us a call ahead, groups seem to be very popular lately and we'd like to make room and time accommodations for you.

Thanksgiving

The day before turkey day is always such a big night out and we're doing our best to accommodate all of your requests for this evening. So far, we've planned a few special small plates and specials on wine and martini flights. As a reminder, we will be closed Thanksgiving day. Look for an email update as to more details to the day before.

Winter Part I

As much as I hate the cold, this weather is certainly perfect for entertaining guests. We're having lots of fun taking care of your special requests lately, really we are, I know that sounded like sarcasm but it wasn't. I'm pleased that so many of you are happy with the changes to our menu, but please keep the recommendations coming, it's a pretty interesting event when you set a dish in front of a guest whose idea it was.

Today's thoughts are a bit scattered, New Years Eve is on my mind daily it seems and I'm wondering what our regulars would like to see. We are considering one early seating, say 6 or 7pm and then moving on to an all inclusive evening of Martinis, Wine and Small Plates from 9 pm on or so at about $75 a head. As always, I'm interested in your thoughts, email me here!

This weekend we have many large groups booked again, so if you are dropping in before or after any downtown event this weekend, give us a call in advance so we can be sure to seat you promptly - 414-431-swig
Hope to serve you soon.

Espresso Martini

Yesterday one of our distributors dropped off a bottle of Van Gogh Espresso Vodka, so I decided to have some fun with it. A few regulars like Eric and Linda and Liz and guest from Small Biz Times
got to try it out (and me of course), we'll since the bottle was free to me, why not stop by and ask me for a taste, I'd love to make you an Espresso Martini with just a splash of Kahlua or Baileys. Hope to serve you this weekend.

(ps - Happy Birthday Mom...you to Paul)

Holiday Parties

I'm very happy that we've been able to serve as host to so many parties this Holiday season and the calls are still coming in for December dates. The reason for this post today is that if you are still considering a party, but think it's too late to book you are not only mistaken, but apparently in good company. Yes, we do still have some weekdays and one or two weekend dates available, please email me directly if it is something you are running behind with, we'll do our best.

New Menu Items

Here it comes, many months of work have gone into selecting new menu items and the broadening of our wine and martini program. It was alot to take on at once, which was part of the delay, but it has led to 7 new menu items(of course the removal of some), many many new wine selections a new feature program, wine and martini flights and hopefully some regularly rotating seasonal additions. I can't tell you how proud we are of what this restaurant is becoming, the experience that it has become known for is exactly what we were shooting for.
